Lancaster Bomber Poppy Brooch

Sassy Spirit is proud to be based in rural Lincolnshire - Bomber County. 

Bomber County has a proud history and great affection for the world famous Avro Lancaster Bomber. A unique icon of aviation history that more than played it's part in WW2.

The mighty Lancaster (of which there are only 2 operational planes left) was based across Lincolnshire during WW2. It was key to the successful "Dam Busters" and "Operation Hydra" missions as well as being the leading aircraft in countless bombing runs to destroy German towns and cities throughout the war.

The average age of a Lancaster airmen was just 22 years old. The life expectancy of a new Lancaster airman was 2 weeks. On average Lancaster's completed 21 missions before being lost. 

It remains an iconic symbol of WW2. Depicted in our brooch it is brought to life in shinning silver contrasted with a cascade of hand painted red poppies falling from it.

This as a beautiful brooch and a fitting tribute to remember all those who have lost their lives in the service of their country.

Our brooch manufacturer makes annual donations to the British Legion Poppy Appeal for every Poppy Brooch sold.

The brooch is finished in silver tone and presented on a card.

Brooch is approximately 4.5cm  x 5cm.
