There are over 500 different species of grass in Madagascar, this basket is hand made from the native Bosaka grass.
It grows in the wild, is excellent for weaving and can be dyed to provide a variety of colours. This basket is dyed Blue and interwoven with undyed natural green stems.
This basket is woven with Bosaka grass and trimmed with raffia at it's base and top.
